James A. Dosen

Biographical
Notes: Mr. Dosen is one of the founding partners of Baune
Dosen & Co LLP where he has been serving closely-held businesses
and individual clients since 1974. He is in charge of the firm's
financial institution and management consulting services departments,
and is current chairman of the firm's Management Committee. His
representative client list spans a variety of industries.
In
addition to being a Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Dosen is a
Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and is also Accredited in Business
Valuation (ABV) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He is extensively involved in the firm's Business Valuation and
Litigation support department where services include providing expert
testimony on tax, accounting and business valuation issues. He has
performed appraisals of closely-held businesses and professional
practices in a wide variety of industries.
Mr.
Dosen has instructed courses on a variety of valuation, banking
and accounting topics for the Minnesota Society of CPAs, Minnesota
Continuing Legal Education, National Society of Public Accountants,
and various state banking organizations, both locally and on the
national level.
The
Minnesota State Society of Certified Public Accountants named Mr.
Dosen as one of its recipients of the R. Glen Berryman Award —
an award given to outstanding instructors of continuing professional
education. He has also been elected a "Super CPA" by Minnesota
Law & Politics and Twin Cities Business Monthly.
Mr.
Dosen has authored various articles on loan risk rating systems
for banks and other financial institutions. He was published in
The Journal of Bank Accounting and Auditing, published by
Faulkner & Gray, Inc., New York, NY. A series of his articles
on loan risk rating was published in the Northwestern Financial
Review, by Financial Communications, Inc., Bloomington, MN.
He has been featured in several articles on utilizing technology
in improving efficiency in the examination process which were published
in the Northwestern Financial Review and the American
Banker.
Mr.
Dosen received his Bachelor of Science degree with high distinction
in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota in 1972.
He
is a member of the Minnesota State Society of Certified Public Accountants,
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Association
of Certified Fraud Examiners and the National Association of Certified
Valuation Analysts.
